Living with a host family in Guanajuato, Mexico

For the past three years, UAH students have studied Spanish at the Don Quijote Institute in Guanajuato, Mexico. One of the many highlights of the program is living with host families.

"Studying Spanish in Mexico helped tremendously since I am a Spanish major. It helped to be immersed in the language and the culture because we not only got Spanish at school, but also at our homestay, in restaurants, and in the streets. We were exposed to Spanish all day everyday and it was wonderful!

"Living with my host family enhanced my study-abroad experience. Being in a home where nothing but Spanish is spoken gave me the chance to practice my Spanish all the time. I think it was one of the most beneficial experiences of the course!"
