Study Abroad!

The Global Studies Program provides a variety of study abroad courses and programs for students at UAHuntsville. Please examine the various opportunities described below. It is never too early to begin thinking about studying abroad and making your plans!

Faculty-Led Courses
Each year, the Global Studies Program administers faculty-led study abroad courses. In the last four years, over 235 UAHuntsville students from all majors have participated in these courses. Past courses include (years offered):
  • Intensive Spanish in Guanajuato Mexico (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008)
  • Aerospace Engineering in Germany (2007, 2008)
  • The Legacies of the Third Reich in Munich, Nuremberg, and Berlin (2008)
  • Russian Culture in St. Petersburg, Moscow, and Kiev (2006)
  • International Politics through Art in Paris and London (2006)
  • Public Health in London (2006, 2007, 2008)
  • Rome: The Eternal City (2005, 2006, 2007)
  • India: Culture and Politics (2007)
Most faculty-led study abroad courses combine an on-campus component in the spring semester with a two-week travel abroad component in May. Please contact the Global Studies Program (globalstudies@uah.edu) for information about offerings for 2009.

Summer Programs in Germany and Italy (offered every year)
Intensive German in Düsseldorf, Germany (4 weeks)
Intermediate Italian in Pisa, Italy (2+ weeks)
Art and Italian Culture in Cortona, Italy (10 weeks)

University Studies Abroad Consortium (USAC)
The USAC consortium provides a wide variety of summer, semester, or academic-year programs at 24 sites in Africa, Asia, Australia, and Europe. You can participate in these programs and earn transfer credit toward your degree at UAHuntsville! For a list of programs and locations, please visit usac.unr.edu.
